Starting in my very own city a pavilion in the park of Crissy field among the coast of the bay area city was in order, with my novice architectural skills and my creative drive I started to work on a concept. As assigned, we were given the study bases of a pepper in order to get to know the shape orientation, after dicing and formatting the slices of pepper in several ways, an important take was that the curves that arched on top and the hollow parts as well as the spacing within the slices, essentially making the pepper a substitution of an actual building, except this time it replaced the basis of a pavilion. upon analyzing the situation, I was able to confirm that a singular pavilion wouldn't do it for such a big park, especially if its crowded half or most of the time. With that in mind I came up with an efficient idea, "why not have several pavilions instead of one". This is when the concept kicked in, the idea of having not only one structure but many scattered within the setting space is an efficient way to shield the ones who don't mind some shade now and then, A constellation! like stars they don't have an order, they are idle in place among others all over space. On top of that some may be bigger than others due to distance. With the concept secured and experience such as waffle modeling, 2d to 3rd drawing skills, and beginner understanding of an architectural scale I set to create.
As I was working my way through, I found peppers to be fine objects to represent the overall embodiment of the pavilions themselves. Due to the slicing, I was able to place and rearrange the pieces in a certain way to later then find a suitable position for all my pieces. Now in terms of sizes I decided to have a main building among several mediocre sized buildings in order to have more of a contrast between structures than to have them all look, feel and especially the size all be the same. Once that was finalized it was time to work on floor plans, elevations, site plans and perspectives. Like many A&D ideal works.
